Keystone Cloudbusters
R/C Club

The Keystone Cloud Busters RC Club regularly maintains the flying site
and field. The site is situated on 5 leased acres and has both a paved
runway and a grass cut runway that is mowed regularly.
For Flight line Etiquette and Safety please scroll to the bottom of this
page.

Morning flights are done from the North East side of the paved runway,
while most prefer to fly from the grassy South West side during the
afternoon.
Both sides contain pit areas. A frequency board and normal club flying
rules apply at both flying locations.

The KEYSTONE RC FIELD is available for the Realflight G-4.5 Simulator
at the below link.

To get the full scenery of our field you need all the add on programs.

The primary RC runway is paved over an older abandoned section of
the original Keystone Airpark Runway. The Paved RC runway is
approximately 50’ x 200’. While the small size of this runway has
been the subject of much debate, it does have the benefit of
developing excellent landing skills
for the RC pilot. We have a saying at the club, “If you can land here,
you can
land anywhere”.

The club also maintains a covered pavilion area for shade and meetings on the North

Visitors are welcome, but are asked to remain in the spectator area. The pit and Flight boxes are for pilots and spotters only.

Flight line Etiquette and Safety

Below is a simple list of suggestions to make flying more pleasurable and safe. A complete list of Flight Safety rules can be found at the bottom of the Club By Laws page (see Article 16).

Pre-Flight Safety

  1. All members and guest pilots are required to be current AMA members and abide by current AMA rules and regulations.
  2. Your current AMA card must be placed on the frequency board prior to flying.
  3. Do not place an AMA or Member card on the frequency board over another members card.  That channel is already in use.
  4. Transmitters must not be turned on unless the pilot has his/her card on the correct frequency on the board.
  5. All transmitters must be kept in the impound area when the pilot is not flying.
  6. Return transmitter to the impound immediately after flying.
  7. Transmitters should be OFF with the antenna fully collapsed when stored in the impound area.
  8. Aircraft and flight boxes must be kept behind the Safety Fence (NE side) or Pilot Stations (SW Side).
  9. When starting and running up your engine, be aware of others near you.
  10. Don't leave your plane unattended when the engine is running!
Flight Safety
  1. Fly aircraft only from the pilot stations.
  2. Avoid standing on the runway. If walking onto the runway call out your intentions.
  3. All take-off turns must be away from the spectator area.
  4. Adhere to the flight pattern of the day when more than one plane is in the air. Flight patterns are established by daily prevailing winds and weather.
  5. Do not fly over spectator areas.
  6. All low, high speed passes should be made toward the center of the runway or beyond.
  7. Beginner pilots must have their aircraft and radio equipment inspected.
  8. Beginner pilots must be assisted until they become qualified pilots.
  9. Do not taxi aircraft into the pit area.
  10. Please report all crashes and injuries to the Club Safety Officer
  11. The NO FLY ZONES shown below are dependent on which side of the field you are flyig from. Basically DO NOT Fly behind Pilot Boxes.
  12. All members are responsible for knowing and abiding by the Club Safety Rules. A complete list of these rules can be found on the bottom of the

Club By Laws Page (see Article 16).
